Terms of Service
The agreement between HappyFetch and its customers. Draft, pending legal review.
These terms apply to the HappyFetch API, the console and this website ("the service"), operated by [Legal entity pending registration] ("HappyFetch", "we"). Questions: hello@happyfetch.net.
1. The service#
HappyFetch returns information about companies from LinkedIn company pages and web search results as structured data, a short profile summary for a LinkedIn profile you send, and web search. We fetch that information when you ask for it, or serve a copy from our cache.
2. Accounts and keys#
- You give accurate information when you register and keep it current.
- Credits, API keys and usage belong to a workspace. The workspace owner decides who is a member.
- You keep your API keys secret. Calls made with your keys are your responsibility until you revoke them.
3. Credits and payment#
- Calls are priced in credits, as published on the pricing page when the call is made. Prices exclude VAT; the pricing page shows the currency.
- Credits are prepaid in packs through our payment provider, Stripe.
- A call is charged only when it completes, as described in the billing documentation. Calls we can't complete are refunded to your balance automatically. Rejected calls are never charged.
- Credit purchases are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Unused credits don't expire. They stay in your workspace until you use them.
- Every purchase comes with an invoice, with the company details and VAT number you enter at checkout.
4. Acceptable use#
You use the service in line with the acceptable use policy and the law that applies to you, including data protection law for anything you do with the data.
5. The data#
- Data reflects the source at the time it was fetched.
meta.cachetells you how old it is. We don't guarantee that it's complete, accurate or current. - You decide what you do with the data and are responsible for having a lawful basis for it.
- Where you process personal data through the service, our data processing agreement applies.
6. Availability and changes#
We aim for a reliable service but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability unless we've agreed on a service level in writing. We may change the API; breaking changes are announced in the changelog in advance.
7. Liability#
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
8. Suspension and ending#
You can stop at any time. To close your account, email us at hello@happyfetch.net and we delete it within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep. We may suspend keys or accounts that break these terms or put the service or others at risk, and will tell you why.
9. Changes to these terms#
We'll announce material changes at least 30 days before they apply. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
10. Law#
[To confirm: Dutch law applies, and disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.]
